The Event Manager role 

As our Event Manager, you will lead the end-to-end project management of all Esri UK events.

Day to day you will be responsible for:

 

  • Event contract negotiations, working with third parties and conference venue teams.
  • Overseeing the delivery of all customer and technical content, including creating speaker agendas.
  • Creating an external and internal communication plan to promote events, maximising registrations and attendance.
  • Working with the wider marketing team, helping to create web pages, graphics, email communications and social media promotion of our events.
  • Review requests to attend events – using your insight around which events are relevant to us, assessing how they will meet company and brand objectives.
  • Establish and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate the event on site, overseeing staff and handling any issues on the day.
  • Post event reviews – analysing attendee satisfaction and providing detailed event reports and recommendations, striving for continuous improvement.

 

 

This would be a great career move if you

  • Have several years’ experience of project managing events from start to finish, including post event follow up.
  • Are highly organised with good project management skills.
  • Can successfully prioritise and enjoy being able to meet often changing deadlines.
  • Have successfully increased event attendance in the past via the creation of sound communication plans.
  • Can build good working relationships with stakeholders, venues, suppliers and can brief creative teams.
  • Have some knowledge around event health and safety requirements.
  • Are budget conscious, balancing costs versus the ROI.
  • We would expect the successful candidate to have a BA in business administration, marketing, events or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Are happy to travel to team meetings, events and conferences, staying overnight when required

Location: We offer flexibility around location. You can be home-based, or office based in either Edinburgh, Aylesbury or Cambridge, or work a mix of both. Travel (including some overnights) will be required to attend team meetings, company conferences and events
